Welcome to Bungle Bungle Savannah Lodge, your nature-based accommodation nestled within the stunning Purnululu National Park. We are committed to ensuring that all our guests, including those with accessibility needs, have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. However, please note that the nature of our property, with mainly gravel paths, may present challenges for some guests with mobility issues.

Below, you’ll find detailed information about the accessibility features of our property.

 

Pre-Arrival, Arrival, and Reception

Our reception/dining area has a wide entrance with door jams and signage in contrasting colours. There is even, and glare-free lighting and ample seating. A clipboard for seated check-in is available, as well as a tablet with text-to-voice capabilities.

Written information and maps are available, and a familiarisation tour is offered for all guests upon arrival. Instructions, guides, menus, and general information are available in plain English.

Guests with accessibility needs are prioritised for check-in and luggage assistance is provided if needed. A designated quiet space for parents and children on the Autism Spectrum is available if needed.

 

Room Amenities

Our rooms are designed with accessibility and comfort in mind, featuring contrasting colours between walls, skirtings, floors, and furniture to aid visibility. There is a clear path through the room, and all furniture and fixtures have rounded edges for safety. Housekeeping ensures that furniture remains in its designated place. Doors open fully against adjoining walls, providing a clear opening of at least 850mm.

Each room includes luggage racks for two suitcases, a chair with rigid arms, and a bedside lamp switch that is easy to reach from the bed. There is at least 850mm of clear space beside the bed, which is no higher than 680mm from the floor, with blocks available to adjust the height. We offer a range of non-allergenic bedding and use non-allergenic cleaning products to ensure a comfortable stay for all guests.

 

Bathrooms Facilities

Bathrooms have clearly differentiated hot and cold taps for showers, baths, and basins, and thermostatically controlled hot water set to 41 degrees. Doors are at least 850mm wide and there is a minimum of 850mm of space beside the toilet, 1400mm of clear space in front of the toilet, and the toilet seats are a contrasting colour with a height of 450mm. A range of non-allergenic toiletries available for guests.

 

Parking

Wide car parking bays are available close to the entrance (20m distance) and a drop-off zone is available.

 

Pathways

All pathways have a gravel surface wider than 900mm with level or ramped access from the car park to the entrance and throughout the property. There are some single step points throughout the property.

 

Accessible Toilets

There is one accessible toilet available for guests of the Lodge that has doors at least 850mm wide, handrails, and clear space in front of the toilet.

 

Swimming Pool

There is a swimming pool for guest use with a wide stair entrance. Please note that there is no pool lift available or stairs with handrails.

 

Dining Spaces

The interior dining room is spacious with even, glare free lighting and ample seating. There is also an outdoor deck with wide space between the furniture.

 

Food and Beverage

At Bungle Bungle Savannah Lodge, we pride ourselves on delivering a warm, welcoming dining experience for all guests, with a focus on comfort, flavour, and dietary inclusivity.

We offer hearty, chef-prepared meals served in our indoor dining room or spacious outdoor deck. The lodge provides:

  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner options as part of our inclusive packages.
  • Buffet-style meals with clearly labelled dishes.
  • Gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, and other dietary needs catered for upon request.
  • Staff trained in providing clear verbal descriptions.
  • Assistance with meal service, such as table service or carrying plates, if required.

 

We recommend advising us of any allergies or food intolerances at the time of booking to ensure we can fully accommodate your needs.

For guests with sensory sensitivities or cognitive impairments, the dining area is well-lit with even, glare-free lighting, ample space between furniture, and the option of quieter seating on the outdoor deck.

 

Walking Tours

Our sister company Bungle Bungle Guided Tours provides on-ground walking tours in Purnululu National Park.  We plan routes to account for slower walkers and ensure guides are trained in clear communication. Please note that due to the nature of the walks and the rough terrain these walks are not suitable for wheelchairs.
